Improvements in the
IFC R2.0 documentation
NOTE: Some parts of the
documentation have been removed, but contents of the documentation has otherwise
not been changed.
- The format of the attribute table for classes has been
changed.
- It now includes information about INV, DER and SELF
- Min, Max and Default have been removed
- The Rule definition table now include both semantic
definition and the code for the rule.
- Previously only a removed attribute did not create a
link from the documentation to the Migration Guide. This has been fixed, see
e.g. IfcWall.
- Tables for SELECT and ENUMERATION values look nicer
- Links from Classes to their common PropertySets have
been established, even if the Class does not have an PreDefinedType
attribute and the associated enumeration. See e.g. IfcDoor and IfcWall
- The format of the attribute table for the fully
attributed view has been changed.
- It now includes information about INV, DER and SELF
- Min, Max and Default have been removed
- Redeclared attributes now appear in the right
place. The attribute appears both in the subclass and the superclass, in
the superclass the attribute appears grayed out.
- A 'Exchange file structure' section has been added to
the fully attributed view. This table shows the attributes which can be
found in an Part21 exchange file.
- IDL definitions and all liks to IDL definitions have
been removed
- The layout of the 'Superclasses and Subclasses' section
has been changed.
- The object names in the Geometry use sections are now liks to the object's definition.
- The layout of the PropertySet 'attribute' table has changed (Min, Max and Default removed).
- Redundant HISTORY information removed, issues moved under the History section
- The 'Type driven PropertySets' section now shows the Pset nesting for each type. See IfcFlowEquipment as one of the best examples
I made these changes to the documentation after using the documentation
for implementation purposes. I hope the improvements will also make your
implementation work a little bit easier.
